New for 2008, Toyota Sequoia's high-line Platinum trim level brings Lexus-like luxury to the Sequoia line-up. The 2008 Sequoia Platinum 4WD is a smooth, quiet, confident and highly-refined SUV, available for $55,600 (MSRP). It comes equipped with a powerful 5.7 DOHC 32-valve i-FORCE V8 engine, producing 381 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 401 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. It comes equipped with extensive standard features not available on lower trims.

The 2008 Sequoia Platinum 4WD comes equipped with a host of standard exterior and convenience equipment, which are either not available or offered as options with the lower trims. These are power moonroof with sunshade, 20-inch wheels, multi-mode 4-wheel drive with locking center differential, a power liftgate, roof rack, a DVD navigation system with back-up camera combo, a power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, perforated leather-trimmed heated and cooled front bucket seats with power lumbar and thigh control, 10-way power-adjustable driver's and 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat; perforated leather-trimmed second-row heated bucket seats with multifunction center console and perforated leather-trimmed 60/40 reclining, power-folding and reclining third-row seating. The Sequoia Platinum 4WD comes standard with Toyota's Star Safety System which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and brake assist. Other standard safety equipment include driver front airbag and front passenger airbag with advanced airbag system, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags and all-row roll-sensing side-curtain airbags with cutoff switch, side-impact door beams, child restraint system, 3-point seatbelts in all seating positions and anti-theft and engine immobilizer systems.
