Bentley Cars Review

History
The Bentley brand of luxury cars offer exemplary level of refinement and prestige. Hand-assembled in the UK at Crewe factory, Bentley coupes and sedans are a blend of old-world craftsmanship and new technology. Bentley Motors, born in England in 1919, was founded by Walter Owen Bentley. In 1921, the first rapid "3-litre" Bentley model made its debut. Subsequent racing success at Le Mans earned the Bentley motorcars its iconic status among enthusiasts. The Wall Street Crash of 1929 resulted in the sale of Bentley brand to Rolls-Royce in 1931.
Expansion
In the decades that followed, Bentley rolled out vehicles that were a little more than the rebadged Rolls-Royces. In the 1980s, a new company policy dictated a more distinctive brand image. The Mulsanne, a Turbo sedan, made waves, Bentley sales increased and BMW began supplying engines to both Bentley and Rolls-Royce in 1998. Volkswagen acquired both brands in 1998, but an agreement saw VW handing over control of Rolls-Royce to BMW in 2003, while holding on to Bentley and the Crewe factory. Today, Bentley retains its edge with traditional qualities of leather and wood trim interiors, luxury, refinement and opulence. Bentley offers completely customized cars according to customer preferences, inside and out. Whether it is the Arnage or Continental GT, these luxury cars steer the brand today with Walter Owen Bentley's philosophy that "the character of a Bentley should be unflustered and effortless".
Models
The current 2008 Bentley lineup includes the Brooklands, Arnage, Azure, Continental GT, Continental Flying Spur and Continental GTC.

2008 Bentley Arnage
The Arnage ($221,990 - $263,990) is Bentley's flagship vehicle, a statement in the refined tradition of British coach building. The 2008 Bentley Arnage comes in three trim levels: base Arnage R, extended-length Arnage RL and sporty Arnage T. A 450-horsepower, V-8 engine powers the Arnage R and RL. The Arnage T has a 6.75-liter, 500-horsepower engine producing 738 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are teamed with a new six-speed automatic transmission.

2008 Bentley Azure
The Azure ($329,990 - $329,990) is a two-door luxury convertible, built in classic Bentley style and beautifully finished both inside and out. It offers room for four and is available only as a convertible trim. The Azure is equipped with a 6.8-liter 450 hp V8 (modified in 2007) for an additional 50 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission.

2008 Bentley Continental Flying Spur
The Continental Flying Spur ($170,990) is a four-door, five-passenger luxury sedan available in only one trim. The Continental Flying Spur is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, W12, 552-horsepower, turbo engine teamed with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

2008 Bentley Brooklands
The Brooklands ($340,990) is a new two-door, four-seater coupe with a characteristically long hood and short front overhang and unmistakable Bentley styling as a throwback to Bentley's coupes of the 1950s. Brooklands will be built in limited numbers with a 6.75-liter twin turbo engine V8 that makes 530bhp and 1050Nm of torque. Bentley says this is the pinnacle of its range.

2008 Bentley Continental GT
The Continental GT ($175,990) is Bentley's high-performance coupe and the first model to feature an all-wheel drive. The 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed coupe is the most powerful production Bentley, with a 600-horsepower V12 that produces 553 lb-ft of torque. The GT Speed trim is distinguished by a wider lower air intake and a more upright grille.

2008 Bentley Continental GTC
The Continental GTC ($193,990) is a new four-seat convertible that completes the Continental model range, apart from the Continental GT coupe and the Continental Flying Spur sedan. The Continental GTC offers open-top motoring with a compact soft-top and a longer rear deck. As with all Bentleys, the interior displays exquisite design and craftsmanship with a classic mix of leather and wood veneers.
