Jaguar Cars Review

History
Few marques on the road today have a heritage as rich and distinguished as Jaguar's. That is, when you consider that it was conceived in 1922 by William Lyons, a man whose original vision was to design motorcycle sidecars with his Swallow Sidecar Company. By 1927, he had progressed to building special-bodied cars, which in 1931 resulted in the launch of the legendary SS1- a car which set the stage for the first true Jaguar. As the range improved and expanded, it needed a name to reflect its speed, power and sleekness. And in 1935, the Jaguar name was born. Since its inception in 1922, Jaguar has evolved from the production of motorcycle sidecars to become one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of premium sedans and sports cars.
Expansion
Over the past few years, the Jaguar product range has gone through a period of remarkable change. There have been continuous developments, including revised versions of the compact X-TYPE and distinctive S-TYPE. Jaguar launched the aluminum XJ, the beautiful XJ long wheelbase models, and the stylish and flexible X-TYPE Sportwagon. Jaguar has also launched the all-new XK, a dramatically beautiful sports car, with exhilarating lines and muscular intent in next-generation lightweight aluminum. This distinguished heritage continues with every Jaguar: they stay true to Lyons' original vision of providing drivers with a unique blend of style, luxury and performance. This significant list of updates and replacements provides proof that Jaguar is an inspiring combination of performance, comfort and driving enjoyment, with the ability to change character to reflect customer needs and desires.
Models

Jaguar XK (starting at $75, 500)
The most dynamic, most agile, most visually dramatic production Jaguar ever built - the XK - made its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2006. Sculpted in lightweight aluminum, the 2007 XK accelerated faster, handled better, used less fuel and produced fewer emissions than its predecessor. It was the embodiment of Jaguar's promise of building only 'Beautiful, Fast cars'. In less than a year, Jaguar had taken the XK's performance to a new height with the introduction of the R-Performance version, the XKR. Now, for 2008, just months after the debut of the XKR, Jaguar has taken its supercharged sportscar to a new level of luxury, refinement and technical advancement with the arrival of the limited edition XKR Portfolio.

Jaguar XJ (Starting at $64,500)
Jaguar has again raised the standard for luxury cars with a new generation of the XJ sedan. Already renowned for its all-aluminum body construction, state-of-the-art technologies and outstanding craftsmanship and build quality, the new XJ is now even more desirable. The key developments for every new XJ model include a more contemporary, assertive and sporting exterior look and significant improvements to the renowned interiors, as well as the latest intuitive in-car technology. An all-new, distinctive design for the XJ's front gives the 2008 model an unmistakably purposeful appearance, a look complemented by the new side power vents, lower body sills and a subtle rear aero spoiler.

Jaguar X-TYPE
The X-TYPE 3.0 (starting at $35,725) combines athletic performance with agile handling, a refined ride and all the luxury appointments expected of a Jaguar. And it continues to be the only compact sedan in its class to offer standard traction-enhancing all-wheel-drive. While the new MSRP is a slight increase on 2007 base pricing, the 2008 version now includes, as standard, such high cost items such as Jaguar's Tire Pressure Monitoring System, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, memory driver's seat and a message center/trip computer. Jaguar's first ever production wagon - the X-TYPE Sportwagon (starting at $39, 995) - debuted in 2004 as a 2005 model. It has since attracted a new generation of sport wagon buyers to the Jaguar brand who base their purchase decisions primarily on style, versatility, and driving dynamics. The X-TYPE Sportwagon gives design-conscious consumers the perfect blend of functionality, style and performance to accommodate their active lifestyles without compromising their desire for sophistication. Designed for use, owners have all the cargo area flexibility and space to meet their needs.

Jaguar S-Type
Luxury, quality and craftsmanship have always been hallmarks of Jaguar's premium mid-sized S-TYPE sports sedan, since its introduction in 1999. But for 2008, Jaguar takes luxury to the next level with the addition of several new standard features. To give the 3.0 (starting at $49, 000) and 4.2 (starting at $56, 500) models an even more athletic look, the deep, sculpted front bumper previously confined to the supercharged S-TYPE R (starting at $65, 000), has been added along with standard 18-inch alloy wheels. To distinguish them from the 'R', they retain their bright bumper blades, grille surround and mesh grille insert.

Jaguar XF (starting at $49, 975)
The new XF is a dramatic expression of a bold new Jaguar design language, with a driving experience that exceeds the expectations created by its striking appearance. It's a car that is relaxed and confident, with outstanding ability and control. Resolutely true to the Jaguar philosophy of creating beautiful, fast cars, the XF goes further, adding a new dimension to the marque. The four-door XF has the visual excitement of a coupe, but room inside for five adults to enjoy an interior that is contemporary in style, yet uniquely Jaguar.
