Land Rover Cars Review

History
Land Rover's history is a long and illustrious one that started in 1948 with the vehicle known simply as Land Rover. Since then, every Land Rover and Range Rover has been engineered and designed to answer the same brief: create a powerful 4x4 that combines a sense of comfort with true off-road capabilities, to enable drivers and enthusiasts to fulfill their sense of adventure. Land Rover established the US automotive market in 1987 when the Range Rover was introduced on American shores. Land Rover then needed a new model to compete with more car-like Japanese vehicles such as the Mitsubishi Pajero. With the creature comforts of the Range Rover and the ruggedness of the original Land Rover, the Discovery was launched in 1989. The Discovery was the first all-new Land Rover in 19 years.
Expansion
Increasing demand and popularity of the SUVs in the early 90s elevated Land Rover to an enviable position. Over the past 60 years, Land Rover has meticulously engineered various iconic models. Today, Land Rover innovation is taking on bold new shapes and gaining rapid momentum. Land Rover continues to remain faithful to its core values - authenticity, adventure, guts and supremacy - engineered into each and every vehicle.
Models

Range Rover (starting at $78, 450)
Land Rover's prestigious Range Rover is widely recognized as the planet's most capable and complete SUV. To reinforce that enviable status, several cabin improvements have been implemented for the 2008 model year. Land Rover's acclaimed Terrain Response system was added as Range Rover standard equipment last year. A handy control dial positioned on the center console automatically adjusts a host of powertrain and chassis systems to suit driving conditions. Five available positions optimize normal dry-pavement driving, snow, mud, sand and rock crawling. A second 2007 improvement was the addition of an electronically-controlled locking rear differential to the list of standard equipment.

Range Rover Sport (starting at $59, 000)
Building on Britain's distinguished history of sporting cars and surefooted off-roaders, the Range Rover Sport is the SUV engineered for anyone serious about expeditious driving. Muscular V8 power, a tidy wheelbase, a low build, and a wide stance yield exemplary agility and tenacious road holding. The Range Rover Sport, available with Land Rover's Dynamic Response suspension system, is the SUV of choice for those who enjoy fast, long-distance touring.

LR3 (starting at $49, 300)
US product reviewers have showered Land Rover's breakthrough LR3 series with scores of awards. Last year, this mid-range model was upgraded by incorporating popular features - leather upholstery, a power glass moonroof, a 240-watt Harman/kardon sound system, and steering wheel touch controls - as standard equipment. LR3 brings Land Rover prestige and core values to the heart of the SUV market with a wealth of content and attractive pricing. Like all Land Rovers, the LR3 excels both on- and off-road thanks to its robust foundation, advanced technology, attention to detail, and top-quality construction. Two models are offered - the SE and the HSE, both powered by a 300 bhp 4.4-liter 32-valve DOHC V8. Three-row, seven-passenger seating, four-corner independent height-adjustable air suspension, and Land Rover's exclusive Terrain Response system are all included as standard LR3 equipment.

LR2 (starting at $36, 150)
LR2 combines the advantages of a premium sedan with the attributes of a robust SUV. The fourth new model launched from Land Rover in just four years, LR2 joins the impressive line-up of Range Rover (2002), Land Rover LR3 (2004) and Range Rover Sport (2005) that together have seen record-breaking sales performance around the world. As the latest addition to the world's leading sport-utility vehicle manufacturer's line-up, LR2 sets new standards in its segment. New from the ground up, LR2 delivers outstanding on-road performance as well as class-leading off-road capability of a Land Rover. A dynamic design, purposeful stance, smart and spacious interior, and an abundance of advanced technologies complete the LR2 package.
