  2008 Audi Q7 Review
  Overview

The Audi Q7 made its debut at the 2005 Frankfurt Auto Show and is a third-generation performance-luxury crossover SUV. The 2008 Audi Q7 seats up to seven passengers depending on the seating configuration. It's available in three trims ranging from the 3.6 Quattro to the 4.2 Quattro Premium with unique safety and luxury features, exclusive handling, and superior craftsmanship.

  Engine and Performance

The 2008 Audi Q7 is fitted with a 3.6-liter V-6 that generates 280 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque or a 4.2-liter V-8 that produces 350 hp and 325 lb-ft. of torque. A six-speed transmission with manual-shift control is standard on both. All Q7 models come with Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Properly equipped, the Q7 can tow 6,600 pounds. The V-8 engine propels 0-60-mph in 8.3 seconds, while the V-6 takes about 10 seconds.

  Body and Styling

The four-door Audi Q7 is unique for its high quality construction and materials. Convenience features include eight-way power front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Audi's Multi Media Interface all-in-one control system, and an eight-speaker stereo with a six-CD changer. The LCD screen controlled by a knob and various menu buttons mounted on the center console and steering wheel helps the driver to operate entertainment, climate, communications, and navigation functions.

  Safety Features

Standard safety equipment for the 2008 Audi Q7 includes anti-lock brakes, a stability control system with hill descent control and rollover detection, traction control, front occupant whiplash protection, side curtain airbags for all outboard passengers, and front-seat side airbags. Optional safety features are seat-mounted side airbags for the second row and side assist, which notifies the driver when other motorists have entered the vehicle's blind spots by lighting up yellow LEDs in the exterior mirror housings.
