At its debut as a concept car in 1995 and later a production reality, the Audi TT was one of the most dramatic sports coupes to hit the market in the 1990s. The redesigned 2008 Audi TT represents the second generation and is available as a coupe and a two-seat convertible.

The 2008 Audi TT is available in two trim levels: 2.0T and 3.2 Quattro offered in a choice of hatchback coupe and roadster body styles. The 2.0T is equipped with a 200-hp turbocharged Inline-4 with front-wheel-drive and the 3.2 Quattro comes with a 250-hp V-6 with all-wheel-drive and 236 lb-ft. of torque at 2,500rpm. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual and a six-speed S-tronic twin-clutch sequential transmission that offers the ease of an automatic combined with the quick response of a manual. Fuel economy is 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

The new Audi TT retains some of the original looks though character lines are crisper and the nose adopts Audi's signature single-frame grille. The Audi TT is larger in size, but extensive use of aluminum makes it lighter than its predecessor. Up front, Audi's trademark grille dominates; at the back, the taillights illuminate as rectangles rather than circles. The convertible top operates effortlessly at the push of a button. The cabin has less storage space, but the seating arrangement offers plenty of legroom. The 12-speaker Bose audio system option produces perfect clarity.

Safety devices in the 2008 Audi TT include stability control, anti-lock disc brakes, front chest-and-head protecting side airbags, front knee airbags, and a tire-pressure monitor.
