  2008 Cadillac XLR Review
  Overview

The Cadillac XLR is a luxury roadster with a striking exterior design and comfortable ride quality. This two-seater convertible with its hardtop convenience provides both a suntan and a top-up highway ride. Notable additions for 2008 include the Alpine White limited edition trim, standard heated steering wheel, and optional chrome wheels.

  Engine and Performance

The Cadillac XLR is available in three trim levels, the base, the Platinum edition and the new Alpine White edition. It is powered by a refined 320-horsepower, 4.6-liter, V-8 VVT engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Rear-wheel drive and magnetic ride control are standard features. Fuel economy is 15/24 mpg (city/highway). The XLR sprints to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds, while it has a top speed record of 155 mph. The trunk offers 11.6 cubic feet of space when the top is up, and 4.4 cubic feet with the top down.

  Body and Styling

The 2008 Cadillac XLR is equipped with luxury features such as eight-way power and heated leather seats, adjustable suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, eucalyptus wood and aluminum trims, heated steering wheel, keyless ignition, adaptive xenon HID headlights with IntelliBeam automatic switching, headlamp washers, standard 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels (chrome aluminum wheels are also available), adaptive cruise control, Bose audio, head-up display, OnStar, and navigation system with voice recognition.

  Safety Features

The 2008 Cadillac XLR gets a list of standard safety features, which includes rear parking sensors, run-flat tires, computer-controlled four-channel stability control (StabiliTrak), magnetically controlled speed-sensitive steering system, all-speed traction control with integrated four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and air bags that offer protection to head and thorax.
