For 2008, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has a host of new features. Starting with the improved engine, which delivers about 25 percent more fuel efficiency; to more polished exteriors and sophisticated interiors, the 2008 Grand Cherokee is new in every sense of the word.

The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an all-new, 4.7-liter, V-8 engine, generating 305 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. While this more fuel-efficient engine is new for the year, the other options are a 3.0-liter diesel; a 3.7-liter V-6; a 5.7-liter V-8, and a 420-horsepower, 6.1-liter V-8 for the high-performance SRT8 trim.

Among the new features are several optional innovations for the interior. These include Sirius backseat TV, the first-ever in-vehicle streaming video technology, and MyGIG multimedia infotainment system. Other upscale changes include the armrests, the two-tone instrument panel, the new center console, and bright accents with soft-touch surfaces. The exterior has some changes like the new high-intensity discharge (HID) auto-leveling headlamp for enhanced brightness, ParkView rear backup camera, and 18-inch aluminum chrome wheels.

Three new technologies have been introduced for this year's model: hill decent control for better grip while descending; hill start assist for a smoother launch uphill; and trailer sway control for improved towing capacity. Along with other regular safety features, these make the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee a stable and safe vehicle to drive.
