  2008 Jeep Liberty Review
  Overview

The slightly redesigned 2008 Jeep Liberty is a vehicle intended to combine good driving capability with utility. The more aerodynamic five-seater has a new boxy look. Its interior, cargo and storage space have been enhanced for this year. The 2008 Jeep Liberty returns with marginally improved fuel consumption.

  Engine and Performance

The 2008 Jeep Liberty comes in two trim levels: Sport and Limited editions, available with either a two-wheel or four-wheel drive. Engine power is standard across all Liberty models at 210 horsepower. Both trims are equipped with a 3.7-liter V-6. While a six-speed manual transmission is standard in the Sport edition, a four-speed automatic is standard on the Limited and optional on the Sport. The 2008 Jeep Liberty comes with a basic warranty of 36 months/36,000 miles.

  Body and Styling

More interior space, cargo and storage space make the 2008 Jeep Liberty more comfortable than before. Other new features introduced for this year's interior are remote start, memory seats and mirrors, and express up/down windows. On the outside, the 2008 Liberty offers an optional moonroof made of canvas instead of the usual glass. The wheelbase has been extended by nearly two inches. While the track has been widened by an inch, the height of the vehicle has been reduced by about one inch.

  Safety Features

The 2008 Jeep Liberty has the following standard safety features for all its models: anti-lock brakes, a four-wheel brake traction control system, electronic stability program, all-speed traction control, electronic roll mitigation, rain-sensing wipers, side curtains, tire-pressure monitoring, and rake assist.
