2008 Lincoln MKZ Review |
| |
Overview |
|
| |
The Lincoln MKZ, rechristened from the Zephyr, is an entry-level midsize sedan and the counterpart of the MKX in many respects, with more or less the same features. New on the 2008 MKZ is Sync, the voice-based software platform that enables users to play music and operate a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone using voice commands. Also new is the optional all-wheel drive and standard heated and cooled front seats. |

Engine and Performance |
|
| |
The powertrain for the Lincoln MKZ is strikingly similar to that of the MKX: A 263-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that drives on 249 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic is the only available transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. |

Body and Styling |
|
| |
Prominent in the exterior are front fog lights, which have a thin crossbar across the waterfall grille; a set of rectangular headlights; and bisected tail lamps. The angular and chiseled Lincoln MKZ has standard 17-inch wheels with an eight-spoke design. New for the year are four new exterior colors: dark blue ink, moss green, vapor silver and white suede. New in the interior is the satin nickel trim. Sirius satellite radio is standard, while a premium audio system with 14 speakers and a navigation system are optional. |

Safety Features |
|
| |
The one introduction to the set of safety features is the reverse-warning system. All-disc anti-lock brakes, side-impact air bags for the front seats, and side-curtain air bags are standard. The 2008 Lincoln MKZ does not have an electronic stability system. |
