  2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi Review
  Overview

For 2008, the Saab's four-door wagon, the SportCombi, has been restyled with some visible changes. The new Saab 9-3 SportCombi boasts of sophistication, originality, spaciousness, agile handling and safety.

  Engine and Performance

The 2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi is available in three trim levels - Linear, Arc and Vector. Its turbo engine pumps out 210 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The powerhouse has been enhanced by a five-speed manual transmission system. Four-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are optional. A sport-tuned suspension and stability control system offer a smooth ride. The new SportCombi gives fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

  Body and Styling

For 2008, the Saab 9-3 SportCombi gets new doors with body-colored door handles. It comes with low floors, upright windows and seating for five. It is distinct in styling cues that subdue the usual boxy look. All three versions have refined alloy wheels. The Linear is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels, while the Arc and Vector have 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels respectively. Backseat headroom, toe space and cargo space are abundant.

  Safety Features

The Saab 9-3 SportCombi has a list of handy safety features such as front seat-mounted side impact air bags; child safety seat anchors; traction and stability control; two-stage front seat air bags; and four-wheel anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and front seat active head restraints.
