2008 Saab 9-7X Review |
| |
Overview |
|
| |
The 2008 Saab 9-7X SUV, the company's first sport utility vehicle, races to 60 mph in less than six seconds. That's not all, the restyled, five-passenger 9-7X offers great comfort, handy controls, and less wind and road noise than many crossovers and SUVs. |

Engine and Performance |
|
| |
For 2008, the Saab 9-7X SUV is available in three trim levels. Besides 4.2i and 5.3i, the Aero body style is new for this year. The 9-7X Aero is equipped with a 390-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8, while the 4.2i comes with a 4.2-liter, in-line 6 engine that churns out 290 horsepower. The 5.3i is equipped with a 5.3 V-8 engine and pumps out 300 horsepower. All the trims come standard with four-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The 9-7X achieves a fuel efficiency of 12-14 miles per gallon in the city and 16-20 mpg on the highway. Meanwhile, V-8 models can tow 6,500 pounds. |

The Saab 9-7X has the signature grille and requisite badging. Standard features include leather seating; heated front seats; a premium Bose stereo with six-CD changer, satellite radio and an OnStar communication system. It's loaded with rear-seat audio controls; Bose 275-watt audio system with six speakers; and an in-dash, DVD-based navigation system. There is plenty of cargo space - 80 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. Aero has a sport suspension, 20-inch wheels and a special exterior trim. Navigation system, rear-seat entertainment system and power sunroof are optional. |
