  2008 Saturn Outlook Review
  Overview

The Saturn Outlook offers the capability of a sport utility vehicle with the efficiency and driving characteristics of a car. This crossover includes seating for up to eight, space for everyone's gear, and the ability to tow up to 4,500 pounds. The 2008 Outlook is the largest vehicle in a revamped Saturn lineup that is all new in less than two years. For 2008, Outlook AWD models feature a revised active-on-demand all-wheel-drive system that delivers a more refined driving experience. Also new for 2008 is a rear backup camera with a navigation radio.

  Engine and Performance

The Saturn Outlook XE is powered by a 3.6-liter, V-6 VVT engine that pumps out 270 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. The XR model has a dual exhaust and provides an estimated 275 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque A Hydramatic 6T75 electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission backs the 3.6-liter, V-6 VVT. This advanced transmission has a clutch-to-clutch shift operation for front-wheel- and all-wheel-drive vehicles.

  Body and Styling

The Saturn Outlook features Saturn's striking design language, which was first introduced on the Sky roadster. It has an instantly identifiable face, highlighted by a bright grille bar flanked by large, jewel-like lighting elements. The headlamps use projector beam technology to deliver bright and precise lighting. In profile the Outlook is sleek and aerodynamic, with a sporty, tapered roofline. Like the exterior, the interior also exudes style and refinement. The instrument panel and other interior elements feature high-quality and low-gloss materials. For 2008, the rear wiper button moves to the centre stack as part of an overall redesign.

  Safety Features

Saturn Outlook comes loaded with a raft of safety features. Standard safety features include StabiliTrak and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes; four-wheel anti-lock brakes with hydraulic brake assist; six standard air bags; OnStar Generation 7 (with a one-year safe and sound plan), and more.
