Engine and Performance |
|
| |
The new 2008 Volkswagen Passat Wagon comes with a 1.8-liter, 20-valve double overhead cam (DOHC), in-line, four-cylinder engine. Producing 170 horsepower at 5900 rpm, and torque of 166 lb.-ft at 1950 rpm (using premium unleaded fuel), the performance of the Passat surpasses most wagons in its category. It has a five-speed manual transmission, and front wheel-drive with a four-wheel independent suspension in the front, and a rear stabilizer bar. |

The Turbo trim wagon is now the only one available with a manual gearbox. The Turbo sports new interior and chrome window trim; new 16-inch wheels; and heated front seats are now an option.
The Komfort edition wears new 17-inch wheels and has optional seat heaters; the Lux edition includes a multifunction three-spoke steering wheel and an optional Dynaudio sound system. The VR6 edition gets heated washer nozzles; optional bi-xenon adaptive headlights, and adaptive cruise control.
VW's 4Motion all-wheel drive is only available on the VR6 wagon this model year. |
